Karachi: Citizen, sacrificial animal shot during robbery bid

KARACHI: In a disturbing escalation of street crime, not only citizens but also sacrificial animals have fallen victim to bandits in Karachi, ARY News reported on Tuesday. According to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Keamari, Faizan Ali, a firing incident was reported from Saeedabad where two armed robbers opened fire and injured a civilian – named Aftab – and a sacrificial animal. The SSP Kemari stated that the police party patrolling nearby quickly responded to the scene and arrested one of the robbers, identified as Huzaifa, after an alleged encounter. However, the second robber, named Sohail, managed to escape from the scene. The police officials recovered a 9 mm pistol from the arrested robber. Meanwhile, the injured cow had to be slaughtered before the Eidul Adha 2024 due to its injuries. Five of family die as vehicle fell into gorge

SHANGLA: At least five persons were killed as a sports utility vehicle (SUV) fell into a gorge in the Barbatkot area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Shangla district on Monday, ARY News reported According to details, the deceased individuals belong to the same family. The police confirmed the causalities in the accident that resulting in the death of five family members. The police said that dead bodies are being retrieved with the help of residents. Earlier in the day, at least six people were killed and others sustained wounds in a horrific accident following a crash between a tanker and car on the Rawalpindi motorway. The motorway spokesperson also confirmed the casualties and said that the accident occurred in the Salt Range area where a gas tanker collided with a car. PM Shehbaz forms National Economic Council

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif formed the National Economic Council (NEC) with himself as the chairman and chief ministers of four provinces as members, ARY News reported. According to a notification issued here, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzaib, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, and Planning and Development Minister Ashan Iqbal have also been notified as members of the NEC. Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz, Sindh CM Syed Murad Ali Shah, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa CM Ali Amin Gandapur, and Balochistan CM Sarfaraz Bugti have also been notified as members. KARACHI: In a significant crackdown, two Afghan nationals were arrested for attempting to fraudulently obtain Pakistani passports in Qambar Shahdadkot district of Sindh, ARY News reported on Thursday. The Director General (DG) Passport, Mustafa Jamal Qazi, disclosed that the two Afghan nationals were arrested who were accused of infiltrating a local family and acquired Pakistani Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC). Qazi asserted that the arrested accused was facilitated by a man, named Bahram Brohi, who allegedly aid the illegal process. The DG Passport revealed that Afghan residents had been arrived at Qamber Shahdadkot passport office to obtain the Pakistani passports. Shah Rukh Khan and wife Gauri Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment issued a warning to the public about online fake job advertisements. “It has come to our attention that there may be fraudulent offers circulating on various social media platforms, particularly WhatsApp, claiming to be associated with Red Chillies Entertainment,” the production house said in an Instagram post on Thursday. “We want to unequivocally state that Red Chillies Entertainment does not communicate any recruitment policy or offer any employment opportunities or any other opportunities via WhatsApp or any other social media platform,” the post read. Shah Rukh Khan’s production house went on to add that it posts job advertisements only through it official networks. Hyderabad gas blast death toll rises to 23

KARACHI: Two more children succumbed to injuries on Wednesday as the death toll from a blast at a liquid petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder filling shop in Hyderabad’s Preetabad area rose to 23, ARY News reported. The deputy commissioner Hyderabad while confirming the deaths said that four-year-old Haram and 13-year-old Mahnoor were being treated at Karachi’s private hospital. He said that the two children breathe their last, taking the death toll to 23. The deputy commissioner Hyderabad said that 29 persons are still in critical condition and being treated. KARACHI: Senate Chairman Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said on Monday that it was up to the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) to decide whether to join the Federal Cabinet. The party already had constitutional posts in the federation and provinces, he said while responding to media persons’ queries after a ceremony. The Senate chairman said that the PPP was known for taking mature decisions. It was the PPP which had restored the 1973 Constitution, besides abolishing the 58-2B clause, he added. Replying to a question, Yousuf Raza Gilani said that the future of political parties was linked to the people’s liking and disliking. A woman was detained after she arrived outside Bollywood star Salman Khan’s Panvel farmhouse to meet and marry him. LAHORE: Federal Minister for Law, Justice and Human Rights Senator Azam Nazir Tarar has expressed his aspiration for judges from minority communities to join Pakistan’s higher judiciary.
