Three terrorists gunned down, one arrested in Pishin IBO: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Three terrorists were gunned down while another was arrested in injured condition in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Balochistan’s (KP) Pishin district, ARY News reported on Tuesday, citing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

According to military’s media wing, the security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Pishin on reported presence of terrorists.

During an intense exchange of fire, three terrorists were gunned down while another sustained bullet injuries – who was later arrested.

Meanwhile, weapons along with a large quantity of explosives were also recovered from killed terrorists.

“Security forces of Pakistan, in step with the nation, remain determined to thwart attempts of sabotaging peace, stability and progress of Balochistan,” it added.

The operation comes amid a surge in terrorist activities across the country, especially in KP and Balochistan, since the outlawed militant group Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan ended its ceasefire with the government in November 2022.

ECP notifies victory of 37 Senators

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has officially issued notifications of success for 37 candidates who were elected to the Senate in the April 2 elections. According to a notification, among them are Rana Mahmood-ul-Hassan from the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Ishaq Dar from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), both representing the federal capital. BSEK urges KE to exempt exam centres from load-shedding

KARACHI: The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) urged K-Electric (KE) to exempt exam centres from load-shedding three days after the matriculation examinations began, ARY News reported. The BSEK’s controller of examinations wrote a letter to the KE and asked that power outages be avoided at exam centers during the exam period. The letter was sent through the additional secretary of the Universities and Boards Department. The BSEK also provided the KE list of examination centres across the city. The power utility was requested to avoid load-shedding during the examination period at all the centres. It is worth noting that 504 exam centres have been set up in seven districts of Karachi.
